HighLight Night 2008
Do you know what a Mixmaster is? No, I'm not talking about a disc jockey or some new blender! I am referring to a huge intersection where major divided highways come together in a massive twist of bridges, on ramps, off ramps, and mergers of lanes together. They are busy, full, and lots of action occurs in a small area! We've been using the term "intersections" around here at LCC in the past few weeks in talking about Life On Loan. That discription of a special kind of intersection called a Mixmaster sure sounds like an event coming up that we call HighLight Night!
Like a highway Mixmaster, Highlight Night is busy, full, and action-packed! But, if you are looking to allow God to put you in the path of people in need of grace, then here's your special appointment! Please keep reading to find out more on this amazing event.
On October 31st, we have an opportunity given once a year to impact our community and culture in life-changing way. We do this by providing a fun, safe place for them to come to on a night that at times can portray some pretty dark images. The formula is simple, but effective, for fulfilling our mission as a church to bring praise to GOD by SERVING others! It really is our most effective combined service and outreach tool.
This may be your first year to be a part of HighLight Night and you aren’t even sure what it is! That’s OK…just dive in and plan to run a game booth or help with one of the many jobs needed for this to be a success. Or, you have been here the past several years and have watched it grow and impact our community! Regardless, I ask you to pray for the effectiveness of this event. We have seen God bring hundreds of people here every year who are touched in some way by the love of Christ!
Our HLN planning team will work with all of you to find the best place for you to be involved with this event! As that happens and the planning for this huge event ramps up please be praying!
Last year was a huge success and I believe HLN 2008 will be more effective than ever because of your prayers. In 2007, we had over 1500 guests participate in the games, food, and fun provided in this free, safe environment! On top of that we had over 220 staff and 71 booths!
